Each year the U.S. Open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament chooses a charity organization to support. This year's charity is the Second Harvest Foodbank.

Our Mission
To educate and involve individuals to end hunger and alleviate malnutrition in our communities.

Who We Are
In operation since 1972, Second Harvest Food bank of Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties is a nonprofit organization providing food and basic necessities to people in need in our service area. We serve over 43,000 clients monthly through a network of 160 agencies and programs.

What We Do
Acquire food from the food industry and community donations and distribute emergency food boxes through neighborhood food pantry networks, USDA food distribution, and Food for Children distribution.
Operate the Community Food Hotline, which provides over 4,000 emergency food assistance referrals during the year. (If you know someone in need of food, call 662-0991 in Santa Cruz County and 634-0170 in San Benito County, from 9am to 5pm, M-F).
